Over the years, Sheldon Cooper and his feelings have been complicated to say the least. Regardless of this fact, it’s clear he loves Amy Farrah Fowler. In many ways, he proves this over and over again.
In “The Prom Equivalency,” Sheldon Cooper finally realized the truth about love. For him, it was a confusing feeling. In fact, he even felt like he may have had a brain parasite because he couldn’t explain the feeling from within.
Luckily for Sheldon Cooper, this wasn’t a brain parasite. It was love.
Brain Parasite Or For Love Amy Farrah Fowler?
“I love you… There’s no denying I have feelings for you that can’t be explained in any other way. I briefly considered I had a brain parasite, but that seems even more far-fetched,” said Sheldon Cooper. “The only conclusion was love.”
In addition to his initial feelings, he also proved his thoughts this season on The Big Bang Theory. In last season’s finale, Sheldon decided to fly across the country to propose to his girlfriend, Amy Farrah Fowler.
Now, the two are planning the rest of their lives together.
Fighting His Need To Hide His Feelings
Over the years, Sheldon has done his best to be like Spock from Star Trek. In many ways, he truly believed that he could live without feelings. But, despite his attempts, people who love him, including Amy, surround him.
As Vulture writes, Sheldon’s “…got a whole group of friends he cares about, and, currently, a [fiancé] he’s pining for, so he has begrudgingly accepted that feelings are a part of his life now.”
Before the proposal, we saw a glimpse of Sheldon’s breakdown while working on a documentary with Leonard Nimoy’s son. There, he revealed the truth about the wedding ring and made it clear he had strong feelings for Amy.
Despite their ups and downs, Sheldon and Amy are now officially together again and planning a wedding. While the official date hasn’t been set, it’s likely we’ll see the wedding by the end of this season.
Do you think Sheldon Cooper has finally learned to handle his emotions?
