“Apart from being born, possibly the most surreal experience of my life. Deep thanks to my Big Bang Theory family for knowing the importance of visiting one’s roots and loaning me out for a quick minute,” wrote Johnny Galecki on social media.
After 21 years, the actor has returned to the show that helped launch his career. Johnny Galecki spent five years on the original show, Roseanne, where he played David Healy. David was Roseanne’s daughter Darlene’s boyfriend.
Reports indicate that Galecki will officially return, this time as David the husband.

The reboot will also feature other original actors like John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Sarah Gilberg and star Roseanne Barr. There will be some major changes to the characters and the series will revise Dan’s death.
“I don’t want to talk to specifically, but I wouldn’t say we’ll ignore the events of the finale. Dan is definitely still alive,” said the ABC Entertainment President, Channing Dungey. The show is set to premiere on ABC sometime Spring 2018.
But does this mean that The Big Bang Theory will be coming to an end?
Dissolving The Big Bang Theory
Every week, it seems that there is more and more information to indicate the end of The Big Bang Theory. The actors have signed on for Season 11 and Season 12, but that could be it for the hit sitcom.
Kaley Cuoco (Penny) started her own company and is set to star in a mini-series in the near future. Simon Helberg (Howard) also has signed on to co-create a new CIA-based comedy for the network in the next year or so.
Jim Parsons has several projects in the works, which include the narration of Young Sheldon, producing a medical drama, and starring in an upcoming film. Based on the fact that Johnny Galecki has agreed to this reboot, we think Season 12 will be the final season.
The network will likely make this announcement over the summer as they prepare to wrap up all of these iconic characters.
