Melissa Rauch and Mayim Bialik were the last two actors to hold out for the Big Bang Theory season 11 and 12 renewal negotiations. Big Bang Theory producers have now admitted they had no plan whatsoever to fall back on if the actresses hadn’t agreed to continue.
As writers and producers planned for The Big Bang Theory season 10, they had no backup plan for a show without Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch. Earlier this year fans and viewers were left in limbo, wondering if the show would be canceled after ten seasons, or if all of the actors would agree to return.
Recently there has been much relief in the Big Bang community as the entire cast have signed on for two more seasons of geeky comedy. Melissa Rauch and Mayim Bialik came to an agreement, after being given major salary increases. The raises were impart due to Kaley Cuoco, Jim Parsons, Simon Helberg, Johnny Galecki, and Kunal Nayyar agreeing to $100,000 pay cuts in solidarity with their cast mates.
Now, producers are admitting they wouldn’t have known what to do had the fan favorite actresses not agreed to come back. Producer Steve Molaro told Fox News, “We never paid attention to it. We were always confident that it was going to work itself out…I don’t even really want to think about what ‘Big Bang Theory’ would be without them. We chose to live in a world where it was happening and just keep pushing forward.”
Positive Thinking Wins

It seems like the writers’ and producers’ positive thinking helped fuel the season renewal. Molaro also admitted that the writers don’t like to think about a definite ending to the show. He said, “We never really plan far in advance… I always flirt with ideas of how the series might end, but nothing that I’d want to say out loud until it gets closer. We didn’t know that this season was going to end this way until the end.”
Hopefully there will be even more after Big Bang Theory season 11 and 12. Can you imagine a show without Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch?
