No Character Is Safe On TWD

No character on The Walking Dead is safe, but most fans will riot if Daryl Dixon or Rick Grimes ever die. Most of the actors can rely on their character deaths from the comic to give them an idea of an expiration date, but not Norman Reedus.
Since Daryl Dixon doesn’t have a storyline in the comic, he could basically go at any moment. Based on how much characters love him, he’s likely to stick around for a while, but fans thought the same about Glenn Rhee.
Norman Reedus recently spoke with the Jimmy Fallon about his character.

Reedus told Jimmy Fallon that he was worried Daryl might die “every single script.” This was particularly true in the first eight episodes of Season 7 when Daryl was being tortured and beaten in his jail cell.
Daryl Dixon is no longer under Negan’s thumb, but he’s still nowhere near freedom and drastically damaged psychologically from the torture and compounded by Glenn’s death. Negan wanted to break Daryl, but his character is not like Eugene, who was already scared to death.
This is why they were so hard on Daryl Dixon.
Will Fan-Love Protect Daryl Dixon?

Fans love Daryl, but the actor understands that the writers and creators behind The Walking Dead will do whatever they feel is best for the show and the story arc. This could mean that Daryl could die at any moment.
With so many complicated storylines, there’s always a chance that they could take out Daryl just to get back to the original comic story. For comic fans, he’s almost in the way at certain points of the story where other things need to happen.
For the rest of us, however, Daryl Dixon is one of the main reasons to watch the show. Hopefully, he’ll stick around for quite some time.
