Mayim Bialik Celebrates International Women’s Day
Mayim Bialik woke up with a purpose Wednesday. She was ready to celebrate International Women’s Day. She posted a photo of her nightgown, and then multiple other photos celebrating women. Mayim is known for her passionate views and outspoken nature.
Mayim posted this photo to her Instagram on Wednesday, March 8th. She had messy bed head, and a just got up look on her face. Mayim wrote, “Good morning to all of the women wearing red today in support of the day without women movement. Yes, this is my goony old lady nightgown and I’m even waking up wearing red. ?”
According to the website, International Women’s Day is, “a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.” This year many women pledged to be absent from work, or only spend money at women-run businesses in order to make a statement about the important work of women.
The Big Bang Theory Set
However, Mayim must not have gone on strike today, as she posted a photo of herself cast mates and crew from The Big Bang Theory set. The group was wearing red in support of the international holiday, and Mayim wrote, “Feeling the female love here on set.” Melissa Rauch posted the same picture with the caption, “Love to the women of the world from @thebigbangtheory_cbs.” You can see Kaley Cuoco in maroon athletic pants at the bottom left of the picture, next to Kevin Sussman.
Melissa’s Women Inspiration
Melissa Rauch also took part in the celebration posting the above picture collage. The TBBT actress captioned the photo,”In honor of #internationalwomensday I wanted to share some photos of two badass women, my Grandmother, and my Great Aunt.” Melissa’s relatives were also political activists. She continued, “Here they are at meetings of “Women’s Strike For Peace” — with feminist pioneer, Bella Abzug. These ladies, along with my mother, taught me the power of a woman’s voice and the incredible things that can happen when we come together.”
The Big Bang Theory girls are certainly outspoken forces to be reckoned with. Did you celebrate International Women’s Day?
