Kaley Cuoco is an outspoken woman, with many interests. She’s multi-facted, multi-talented, and beyond interesting. After a decade of playing Penny on The Big Bang Theory she’s brought some of her own personal interests into her character- namely, her love of yoga.
Kaley Cuoco LOVES Yoga. The TBBT actress has spent many years taking part in athletics, and it seems she enjoys staying active and fit. She told Health Magazine, “I tried spinning, I tried running, I tried yoga, I tried Pilates…I realized I don’t like running…I refuse to do it. I like spinning, so I try to mix that in. When I found hot yoga, I fell in love with it and was like, this is my thing.”
Kaley is also an avid horseback rider. She frequently participates in horse shows and competitions, and she and her boyfriend Karl Cook own several horses. Yoga definitely helps with the strength and flexibility needed to ride well.
There have been several instances where Kaley’s love of yoga has seeped into The Big Bang Theory script.
The first time we saw Kaley’s yoga moves on screen happened when she taught Sheldon a few things. In Season 7, Episode 13 Penny and Sheldon are found in the living room bending over backward so to speak. Sheldon’s alarmed facial expressions are hilarious. He even points out, “I’ve read that there are great yogis that have such great mastery over their bodies they can draw water in through their genitals.”
Very, very typical Sheldon.
Raj And Penny
Yoga popped up on The Big Bang Theory again in Season 10. When Raj moved into Sheldon’s old room he and Penny realized they have a lot of common interests and began practicing yoga together. We love how seriously Penny takes her postures- just like Kaley Cuoco.
