Sadie Robertson recently made it known that she is against a worldwide problem. Something that directly affects 20 million people.
Sadie Robertson is against a worldwide epidemic, and she’s not afraid to show it (source: CNS News) All she did was draw an X on her hand and post a picture of herself online with the caption “no more.” That simple act shows the world she’s spreading the word, trying to defeat this metaphorical beast.
“Slavery has many forms and names, but it’s still slavery,” it says on EndItMovement.com, which influenced Sadie to stand up against this epidemic. “And it’s still wrong. Can you imagine being forced to work without pay, trapped, unable to walk away, subject to violence or the threat of violence, by another person as they control you? Own you? Isolated, yet hidden in plain sight. This is reality for those trapped in slavery today. Slavery is illegal in every single country in the world. Yet it still exists.”
Every year, End It Movement holds a “Shine A Light On Slavery” day — this year, it fell on February 23. The way the End It Movement encourages people to raise awareness of the problem of slavery is to draw a red X on your hand and post a photo of yourself online…
“Comment an ❌ and tag a friend to spread awareness to END slavery,” Sadie writes on Instagram.
Other celebrities that got involved in this movement to end slavery include David Crowder, Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher, Peyton Manning, and Ashton Kutcher.
