ICE Chief Ready To Make America Great Again
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Director Thomas Homan said that he plans to continue his crack down on illegal, undocumented immigrants in the United States, regardless of whether or not they are hiding in Sanctuary Cities.
Chief Homan | Photo Credit Washington Examiner “In the America, I grew up in, cities didn’t shield people who violated the law,” said Homan. “What I want to get is a clear understanding from everybody, from the congressman to the politicians to law enforcement to those who enter the country illegally, that ICE is open for business.”
Homan said they will continue to enforce the “laws on the books without apology” and do so as a priority.

The Hill reports:
“During his interview with the Examiner, Homan also praised the Trump administration, saying it has “taken the handcuffs off law enforcement,” allowing them to address immigration more thoroughly.”
“You can like President Trump, not like him, like his policies, not like his policies, but one thing no one can argue with is the effect they’ve had,” said Homan. According to Homan, illegal border crossings have decreased by 70 percent under Trump and arrests inside the country have increased by 40 percent.”

The Washington Times writes:
“Illegal immigrants should be living in fear of being deported, the chief of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said Tuesday, pushing back against a growing sentiment among Democrats on Capitol Hill and activists across the country who have complained about agents enforcing the laws on the books.”
“Thomas D. Homan, acting director at ICE, said anyone in the country without authorization can be arrested and those who have been ordered deported by judges must be removed if laws are to have meaning. His comments marked a major shift for an agency that President Obama forbade from enforcing the law when it came to more than 9 million of the country’s estimated 11 million illegal immigrants.”
