If you’ve been waiting for the redneck version of Ocean’s Eleven, then wait no longer.

RednecksThe stars of “Logan Lucky” from left: Channing Tatum, Katherine Waterston, and Adam Driver Logan Lucky is a film set to come out in late summer 2017. And, according to the director, it’s a redneck version of one of the Ocean’s movies.

There’s even a cameo from NASCAR racer Kyle Busch.

The premise of the movie is about a redneck family, the Logans, from West Virginia who have have had bad luck for the past 90 years. But one of the Logans (Jimmy Logan, played by Channing Tatum) has what he believes is a brilliant idea…

They’re going to steal $14 million from the Charlotte Motor Speedway.

And the director of the film, Steven Soderbergh, said this is an Ocean’s movie in upside-down world.

“On the most obvious level, it’s the complete inversion of an Ocean’s movie,” said Soderbergh. “It’s an anti-glam version of an Ocean’s movie.”

He goes on to explain exactly why it’s an inversion of those films.

“Nobody dresses nice,” he said. “Nobody has nice stuff. They have no money. They have no technology. It’s all rubber band technology, and that’s what I thought was fun about it.”

And Soderbergh couldn’t be more excited about this movie.

“I’m excited about it creatively because it’s the kind of movie that I like to make,” he said. “It’s the kind of movie that I like to see. Some of these issues that I’ve had in the past with the way movies are released can be mitigated. It seemed like all green lights to me.”

The movie is set to drop August 18 in theaters across the country.

Rednecks who also love the Ocean’s movies, this may be your jam.
