Adam West, television’s Batman passed away on June 9th, 2017. The Big Bang Theory cast joined together on social media to pay tribute to their friend and guest star.
Adam West On The Big Bang Theory
Adam West appeared on The Big Bang Theory‘s 200th episode. The episode revolved around a surprise party for Sheldon, which Penny threw after hearing about his traumatic childhood experience. Sheldon’s sister had told him Batman was coming to his birthday party, and when the superhero didn’t show up young Sheldon Cooper was devastated.
In an attempt to make it up to him the gang invited Adam West to the party. Adam created quite a hilarious character, playing a “diva” who wouldn’t take the bus. He also joked that Michael Keaton was the best Batman, but that he himself had the best comedy chops.
Kaley Cuoco posted this photo from the live taping and said, “So sorry to hear about the passing of Adam West. Still can’t believe we worked with him on our 200th episode…he was as cool as you would imagine him to be…”
Apparently the Batman star made quite an impression on the cast. Mayim Bialik posted this photo collage and said, “Shabbat is over and I just heard the sad news about the loss of [Adam West]. It was an incredible honor and the dream of a lifetime to work with him on our 200th episode of [Big Bang Theory].”

Clearly the late actor was a class act, and made each cast member felt involved and important in his life. Johnny Galecki expressed his castmate’s sentiments saying, “Was an honor to work with you and a pleasure to get to know you some. Safe passage.”
Adam West died surrounded by friends and family in his home on June 9th. His family released a statement saying, “Our dad always saw himself as The Bright Knight and aspired to make a positive impact on his fans’ lives. He was and always will be our hero.”
