Deserted and alone…

DETROIT YOUTH AND DOG RESCUE

It’s ok not to walk your dog once in a while. It’s even ok to be absent most of the time. Because dogs understand, and no matter what they will greet you with a smile when you’re back.

But you know what’s not ok?

Leaving your dog when you move!

That’s the last thing they deserve from us. If you can’t take him with you, find him a new home. Leaving your dog when you move it’s the most heartbreaking thing you can do to him.

Boo, the pit bull, was left behind when his family moved. All he ever had to offer to his family was love, and yet he ended up homeless. We’re not sure why his family decided to move on without him, but the story sure is heartbreaking.

Boo was no different than any other family dog. When his family moved, they left some stuff on the curb for the trash to collect. Sadly, Boo was one of their trashed items…

He was just waiting for his family to come home, because he had no idea he was left behind.

Liz Marie, one of the neighbors, noticed how Boo was lying on a discarded mattress outside his home.

“This picture absolutely breaks my heart, I am literally in tears. Meet Boo, this beautiful boy was left behind with the trash and belongings when the family moved out. He stayed right by their stuff and never left it, confused and lonely,” Liz wrote on Facebook.

Detroit Youth and Dog Rescue received a call about Boo, and Mike Diesel was dispatched to go and pick the pit bull up.

Rescuing Boo

Diesel spent 11 hours trying to catch Boo. He clearly wasn’t willing to leave his home. He still had hope that they will return for him. However, after 11 hours, Diesel managed to catch the dog and to take him to the vet.

That’s when he heard the bad news. The pit bull was positive for heartworm.

Boo deserves a loving family, and the organization wasn’t going to give up on him. The pit bull is now recovering from the heartworm, and he will be soon available for adoption.

Diesel was often visiting Boo, and the pit bull proved that he’s just a loving companion who needs a loving home in return.

The Detroit Youth and Dog Rescue organization did an amazing job rescuing Boo from the streets. We truly hope that Boo will find a forever home after he will recover from the heartworms.
