May The Fourth Be With You

Walking Dead | Photo Credit Twitter The play-on-words, turned Star Wars Day, May 4th (May the Force be with you…) is just one of the new strategies to enhance nerd culture. The Walking Dead’s Instagram celebrated the day by creating an epic Star Wars-Walking Dead mash-up.

The new images look specifically like the most recent film, 2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Daryl looks like Han Solo, Maggie is Leia, Sasha appears to be Rey, and Michonne has a look similar to Kylo Ren.

“Happy Star Wars Day from us here at The Walking Dead,” said the post.

Comic Book reports:

“Killing the undead is basically the same as rallying the rebellion to take down Darth Vader and The Empire, right? Well, even if it isn’t, even the characters on The Walking Dead can get behind a little space action on Star Wars day.”

In addition to the main Walking Dead fan account, actor Khary Payton (King Ezekiel) also got into the celebration by posting his own photo of King Ezekiel with a light saber rather than a cane.

“May The Fourth Be With You,” tagged the iconic actor.

New Walking Dead And Star Wars In 2017

For fans of Star Wars and The Walking Dead, both are set to come out with new additions at the end of 2017. The Walking Dead returns in October with Season 8 and there’s going to be a new Stars Wars film released in December.

Part of the reason why there was such a delay in making more Star Wars movies is due to technology upgrades, but now that they seem to be making one each year, this is likely a movie by new owners, Disney.

On April 14, the trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi hit the Internet, showcasing the newest update in the saga, which is directed by Rian Johnson (Looper, Brothers Bloom).

Are you more excited for the new Star Wars or The Walking Dead, Season 8?
