In addition to The Rock’s new film, Rampage, which is originally based on a Sega game, The Walking Dead’s Jeffrey Dean Morgan has also signed on to star in a film by writer-director Henry Dunham.

Militia is currently classified as “pre-production” on IMDB, meaning the cast and crew are still being discovered like a preparation stage. This is Dunham’s first feature film after making a short called The Awareness back in 2014.

Militia also stars Jack Huston and Ralph Ineson.

Not much additional information has been released for Militia or Rampage, but those who follow The Rock on social media have likely found a few pre-production photos from the wrestler turned actor.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s new film is listed as “a former cop-turned-militia man investigations a shooting at a police funeral.” Morgan has played a cop in several films and looks to be doing so in his next two movies.

Militia is supposed to be like Heat or The Usual Suspects.

Deadline reports:

“Dunham was first recognized for his 2014 tech-thriller short The Awareness, and in 2015 Militia was featured on the Black List of the best unproduced screenplays. He says, “I wrote Militia years ago before current events in society echoed the scenario dramatized. This story is about a man struggling to know whether he’s strong enough to be alone, or if he needs to be a part of something, even if it’s what’s hurting him.”

“At its heart, Militia is a story about connection and I am honored that Jack Huston and Jeffrey Dean Morgan have signed on for this journey.” Cinestate is currently in post-production on the S. Craig Zahler film Brawl In Cell Block 99 with Vince Vaughn and Don Johnson… as well as the Coatwolf production of Chuck Hank And The San Diego Twins.”
