Season 7 of The Walking Dead just came to a close, and both the cast and fans are pumped for Season 8. Since the last sixteen episodes were slow, everyone is expecting the next sixteen to be action-packed, as we enter Rick’s War.

Season 8 should parallel with “All Out War” from the comics. This means that Maggie will be running Hilltop, while the King prepares The Kingdom and Rick gathers the troops in Alexandria.

Actor Andrew Lincoln is pumped for the season as well.

“I can’t wait,” said the actor. “This is not hyperbole. This is not a cynical act to try and amp up enthusiasm for the hundredth episode in Season 8, but I am genuinely more excited about this next episode and the following 15 than I’ve ever been in my life. I can’t wait to get back.”

Perhaps the reward comes from patience. Rick Grimes was submissive to his enemy Negan for most of the last season, so now it’s time to strap on the holster and prepare for battle once again.

Rick Grimes is back to being Rick Grimes.
