3If a hurricane hits your town, a flood wipes out half your house, or North Korea bombs the U.S., what will you do?

Surely, the guys from Duck Dynasty have prepared for these types of situations. You know why? Because they’re smart. We should all be smart like them.

Here are three ways you can start prepping for emergency situations.

Who are you prepping for?

You need to prep for you entire family (source: Facebook)

This will guide a lot of your prepping decisions. For example, if you have small children, you’ll need to plan with them in mind. Not just for supplies, but for abilities and endurance.

Just think — will you need to take care of anyone, or can everyone involved take care of their own necessities? This will be crucial knowledge to have.

Food and water

You need food and water. So it’s smart to stockpile both, no matter what you’re prepping for. No food and water means no chance of survival.

Calculate how long your food storage will last between the number of people in your family (imagine the Robertsons’ food storage). Slowly build these stockpiles by buying small amounts of extra food every time you go grocery shopping and put that extra food in the stockpiles.

Then, of course, ration food and water to only what’s needed during whatever disaster that has struck.
