“My first-ever date was sharing a school bus home and getting kissed at my bus stop,” recalls Lauren Cohan, who plays Maggie on The Walking Dead. “It’s hard to top the romance of that.”

In a recent photo shoot with GQ, Lauren Cohan talks about some of her best and worst dates. If you’ve ever pictured yourself in Glenn Rhee’s shoes, Lauren may be a little different than her alter ego, Maggie Greene.

The British actress tells all in this micro-interview.

How To Date Lauren Cohan From Walking Dead

“My second best date was in cinema and before he kissed me, he had eaten a bunch of sweets, so he put sugar all over my face,” recalled the actress. It was “less romantic, but still…”

“I’m really old-fashioned, I always think a guy should pick you up and pay for dinner. I’m a really generous person but I like tradition. I think it’s nice. I’m a big believer in: if he’s into you, he’s not going to keep it a secret so I don’t chase anything, I just sort of let the universe show itself to me.”

Lauren also spoke about who she would like to date on the show.

“I’m probably bias, but I would say the best character on a date in my series would be Steven Yeun (Glenn) because he plays my husband. He’s also the funniest and I think that’s the most important thing on a date.”

“If I spend an entire evening not really talking about anything but I’ve laughed a lot, then it’s golden,” concluded the actress. During the interview, it’s clear she laughs a great deal on her own.

If you had the chance, where would you take Lauren on a date?
