Every parent hopes their children act appropriately, even when no one is looking. Well, for one mom, she has proof that her son did just that.
Little Wyatt stops at the sight of an American flag – what he does next would make any mom proud (photo via YouTube) The Utah mom got on camera a glimpse into the heart of her 7-year-old son, Wyatt. Thanks to a security camera on their property, there’s a video that shows Wyatt ride up to the porch on his small motorbike.
As he approaches the porch, he slows down and stops underneath an American flag hanging to the side. He puts his hand over his heart and recites the entire Pledge Of Allegiance while staring at the flag.
He then rings the doorbell. And he waits for someone to answer.
Stepping back from the door, he watches the flag blow in the wind, admiring it.
Wyatt’s mom, Jami, told media that she’d never seen him do that before, at least on his own.
“He doesn’t pledge allegiance, that I am aware of, other than at school … or at an event,” said Jami. “I can’t remember a time when he did this on his own.”
Seeing this video made Jami wonder what else her kids do when no one is looking, saying parents should pay attention to their kids more.
“Sometimes we are only looking at them when we notice they are doing something wrong and we need to correct it,” she said. “I wish I could see what my other two do when I am not looking.”
She said kids “born into today’s world are strong” and honest.
“I think if we would watch more we would learn from their honesty and sincerity,” she said.
