Jim Parsons and Chuck Lorre are producing what’s sure to be ANOTHER classic comedy hit.

Young Sheldon is set to premiere September 25th and will follow the life of Sheldon Cooper in his elementary (but actually highschool…) years. At the helm of the project? Iain Armitage.

Iain Armitage’s Talent

Iain Armitage began his acting career WAY before most people begin…well, anything. Iain is the son of an actor and a producer, so it makes sense that he was inducted into showbiz early. He got his start filming theater reviews on Youtube. The adorable videos were such a big hit that Perez Hilton noticed him, and invited him to be a Tony’s red carpet correspondent.

His first major television appearance was on the HBO mini series Big Little Lies. He played Shaleine Woodley’s son and got to share the screen with big time names like Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon. Perhaps being surrounded by such incredible actors from a young age has spurred Iain’s acting capacity. He was a shoo-in when it came to casting Big Bang based on his youth, and ability to articulate.

Jim Parsons, in particular, is incredibly impressed by the young actor. He told a panel recently, “We have a lot more in common now than I would have had at the same age. I wasn’t mature enough at nine. I was not an overly bright child. I was mediocre. I didn’t befuddle my parents. That came much later, with my sexuality. Iain is much more in control as a human being than I was.”

Iain’s Joy

Jim is also impressed by Iain’s joy on set. While many actors can become bogged by stress, Iain’s youth is a reminder to everyone in the room to have fun with it and enjoy the process. Jim said, “[He is] having fun and it’s been really inspirational to watch…There’s just a way in which he’s tackling all this that is so such fun and such joy of the process. [He’s] a reminder to, I think, anybody who’s been doing it for a while to see how much fun it is.”

Sounds like Iain is killing it at Young Sheldon. We can’t wait to see him hit the small screen on Monday September 25th.
