Good News For Season 8 Of The Walking Dead

Besides the bad news, the good news is that Showrunner Scott Gimple has just released some information about the upcoming season. Within the leaked news, it somewhat seems like the creators are finally listening to fans.

Scott Gimple spoke with Entertainment Weekly.

The showrunner revealed, “By virtue of the fact that the narrative has turned into one of pretty intense conflict, it’s going to affect the structure in ways that make it a bit more kinetic, a bit more breakneck—shifting away from entire stories in one episode, and sort of fractured over several episodes, with littler pieces of each story coming together.”

This is exactly what fans and critics have complained about in the episodes like “Swear,” which received harsh ratings. Fans can say goodbye to those episodes that destroyed Season 7 of The Walking Dead.

This means the show will be more like Game of Thrones and less like Lost.

Season 8 Should Please Fans

“We knew the way that 7 as going to be structured, and we knew we wanted to mix it up in 8, and we knew what 8 was going to be and how that would dictate a very different kind of structure anyways,” said the showrunner.

Things are going to move forward without single-character episodes, so the show should be more appeasing to all fans. No longer do we have to wonder where Daryl has been or what’s going on with Rick and Michonne.

Essentially, seeing the main characters less but more frequent should please the bulk of the fanbase.
