Manchester Police Arrest Man Connected With Bombing

Manchester Police | Photo Credit Independent United Kingdom Police have arrested a 23-year-old man connected with the Manchester Attack, which killed at least 22 people and injured 59 others. The explosion took place at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester Arena.

After the event was finishing up, a “huge bang” was heard as fans were gathering their belongings to leave the arena. Manchester Police started receiving calls at 10:33 pm from concert-goers who were fleeing the scene.

Eyewitnesses only described the incident as “chaos” while thousands of people tried to flee the arena. Police originally said that a lone suicide bomber detonated the IED but it’s possible he had an accomplish.

This is said to be the worst terror attack since the London Bombing in 2005.

Theresa May Speaks To United Kingdom

The Independent reports:

“A man has been arrested over the terror attack at Manchester Arena. The 23-year-old man was arrested in south Manchester the morning after the bomb and in relation to the attack, according to Greater Manchester Police.”

“Theresa May had earlier confirmed that police believed they knew the identity of the suicide bomber, who died at the scene. They have not publicly suggested whether or not the killer was working alone.”

“The report of the arrest came at the same time as police confirmed that a man had been arrested at the Arndale Centre, amid a bomb scare there. Police suggested that the arrest and the events were not thought to be connected to the night’s attacks.”

“All Acts Of Terrorism Are Cowardly.”

AOL reports:

“Islamic State, now being driven from territories in Syria and Iraq by Western-backed armed forces, claimed the attack as revenge against “Crusaders.” But Western experts were skeptical, noting it had offered two accounts of the attack partly contradicting each other and the British police version.”

“In a statement made outside her Downing Street offices after a meeting with security and intelligence chiefs, May said police believed they knew the identity of the bomber. “All acts of terrorism are cowardly,” she said. “But this attack stands out for its appalling sickening cowardice, deliberately targeting innocent, defenseless children and young people who should have been enjoying one of the most memorable nights of their lives.”
