A fact just confirmed by the new president of Ivanka Trump Fashions, Abigail Klem. In her first interview since becoming head of the organization, Klem told Refinery 29 that the brand is not only succeeding, but that it will rise above the political fray.
“We’re committed to doing everything we can to carve an identity for this brand that is about what the brand stands for and the core brand attributes.”
Klem was also careful to point out that the organization is doing everything they can to keep a safe distance from Ivanka and even greater distance from President Trump. A change that likely won’t stop those who want nothing more than for the brand to die a slow death.

Klem noted that since the boycotts began, the brand has saw some of its best performing weeks. For several retailers Ivanka’s fashion were top performers online. And in some categories, it was the brands best performance-ever.
However, even in light of this great report, it was Klem’s final comments that got straight to the heart of what is happening for Ivanka. Klem, a registered Democrat, suggested that the choice to do what is right is not determined by one’s political party.
“I think, one, a lot of people support Ivanka, even across both political parties. And then I think a lot of other people feel like, Oh, I didn’t know Ivanka had a shoe line. Oh, I didn’t know she had a handbag line. And they’re buying it.”
