After the missile drills from North Korea, the United States has started to deploy various attack drones to South Korea. These actions follow other procedures meant to help counter “continued provocative actions” from North Korea.

These drones are Gray Eagle Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) and they are only a portion of a much more complex plan to prepare American armies overseas. “The UAS adds significant intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance capability to U.S. Forces Korea and our ROK partners,” said spokesman Christopher Bush.

Currently, it’s not been made public when the drones will arrive.

Beyond the recent missile tests from North Korea, they have also performed various nuclear tests over the past year, despite the actions of the U.N. to stop them. U.S. ambassador Nikki Haley finally spoke out about the issue.

Haley said Washington was re-evaluating the role of North Korea, and that in order to stop their pursuits, “all options are on the table.” Part of these options include the Gray Eagle remote controlled attack drones.

The drones are currently stationed at Kunsan Air Base, near Seoul.
