First of all, if you’re wondering if Carrie Underwood sounds as good singing in the car as she does on the radio, the answer is yes. But we learned a whole lot more from Carrie Underwood when she was on Carpool Karaoke. Who would have thought that the sweet face of country music thinks fighting is hot, loves British music, and has the secret to making it in country music. Here’s a list of the top 5 hilarious things we learned about Carrie during her ride.
Fighting is Hot
Though now retired, Mike Fisher didn’t have to worry about his wife stressing about his job. It turns out that Underwood actually found her hockey-playing husband hot– especially when tempers flared in the rink.
The host, James Corden, said that he noticed that there was a lot of fighting in hockey. So did she worry about her husband? She said that the last fight was actually pretty bad. Fisher knocked out a guy’s tooth. And her response to it all? “It was pretty hot.” James died laughing.
“Boots are our roots”
After another round of song, Corden said that he had decided he wanted to enter country music. But he wasn’t sure where to begin. He said that he noticed that county stars mostly wore cowboy boots, and Underwood assured him that this was the place to start. “Boots are our roots,” she told him.
The two actually took a side trip to go shopping for some boots. Corden balked at the $800 price tag, despite the fact that Underwood told him it “was nothing.” Ultimately, she did help Corden pick out a cowboy accessory. But the best part was her attempting to pull off his boots. Who would’ve thought that a multiplatinum artist would be pulling off cowboy boots for a television host?
She Can Really Hold a Note
Corden challenged her to a contest of who could hold a note longer. We won’t give away who won, but it was a hilarious challenge. Underwood likened it to the scene in the movie Dumb & Dumber when the two characters make “the most annoying noise ever.” She wasn’t far off.
Corden said he had heard that Carrie knew all the words to every Wham! song. So was this true? You bet. Underwood admitted to being a huge fan of the 80s British duo. The last song of the ride was the two of them jamming out to “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go.”
She’s a Good Sport
What made the Carpool Karaoke ride so fun was that Underwood was a great sport about everything. From shopping to singing, she wasn’t too cool for school. She just went along and had a great time.
