Here’s The Scene All Animal Lovers Are Going Nuts Over

Amidst the toxic waste walkers, it looks like the end for King Ezekiel. He’s already been saved three times and he’s got nothing left. Mentally, he’s shaken and blames himself for the loss of his people. Physically, he’s weak and injured. Luckily, an old friend arrives to give him one more last chance.

Shiva the tiger dives in and lands on a walker. She grasps the walker with her teeth and tosses it aside. As King Ezekiel watches, Jerry forces him to get up the hill and continue their trek home.

From safety, King Ezekiel, Jerry, and Carol are forced to watch a dozen walkers surround and attack Shiva the tiger.

Animals Save Rick Grimes, King Ezekiel

This isn’t the first time that an animal has saved someone on The Walking Dead. Shiva the tiger saved Carl Grimes and Rick Grimes in the Season 7 finale. She’s also been there several times when the King calls for her.

Back in the pilot, a horse saved Rick Grimes. While it was less intentional than Shiva, Rick rode a horse into Atlanta to find a horde of walkers. The first horde of the series, he fell off the horse as the walkers attacked them both.

Luckily, the horse was enough of a sacrifice for Rick Grimes to get away. However, Shiva the tiger deserves more of a ceremony than the horse.

Who Will King Ezekiel Be Next?

“Let me help her,” said the King. From the safety of the bank, Jerry and Carol kept him from going after Shiva. At this point, it’s unclear if he could have really saved her or if he simply wanted to sacrifice himself as well.

Shiva the tiger has saved the King many times. In the beginning, they essentially saved one another. In reality, the King would have never become who he is without Shiva.

With that in mind, it’s unclear who he is going to be next on the show. At this point, it looks like King Ezekiel is going to turn in his crown. We even hear him lose his stage projection (voice) as things start to take a turn.

Do you think King Ezekiel can still be a king without his tiger?
