In the past, we’ve discussed the sibling curse on The Walking Dead. Essentially, no two siblings will survive. One sibling always dies. That’s what happened with Andrea and her sister, and Merle and Daryl. The curse may be about to strike the Grimes children.

Carl Grimes has gotten his eye shot out, and the Saviors are now in control of Alexandria. We’ve seen Carl’s terrible aim in his darts game and driving to find Enid. Now, he’s in the back of a car heading straight to Negan.

Since the actor has also been accepted into Auburn, there has been a possibility that he will be leaving the show. While it’s possible for Chandler Riggs to attend school and work on the series, there is also a message from Rigg’s dad that has been deleted. It’s about Rigg’s contract.

Comicbook.com reports that the message has been deleted from Facebook, but it certainly looks like a goodbye.

“7-year contract completed! Grateful to AMC, Cast & Crew, TWD fan base, and especially Chandler for always being 100% dedicated. Whether is was getting up at 4 AM, working in the freezing cold past 2 AM, leaving his friends and carefree kiddom behind, scrambling to make up missed schoolwork, he has done it without complaint and always made me proud & amazed to be his dad!”

Plot-wise, it’s strange to kill off Carl now, but it’s certainly looking like a possibility based on the evidence and with only two episodes left this year. While Auburn is in driving distance to the overall set, but Andrew Lincoln and Norman Reedus have signed on for Season 8, while Chandler Riggs has not signed on for a new season.

Robert Kirkman has said that Chandler Riggs’s Carl is his favorite character, but in terms of killing off Carl, he’s revealed vague answers. “What spoiler are you talking about? I don’t know what spoiler you’re mentioning here. I really don’t like to spoil things at random on things like that. Negan killed Carl?”

The creator has joked about killing off Steven Yeun’s character Glenn by Negan’s baseball bat, which did happen this season. So it’s possible that Carl will die this season on The Walking Dead.
