Why THIS Ultimate Prank Means Sheldon Cooper Is Stuck In The Past

“All I can remember from seven years ago is that I couldn’t get Kesha’s “Tik Tok” out of my head,” said Raj Koothrappali. During the Bitcoin episode, we learned a little bit about how each of the characters have changed, except for Sheldon Cooper.

During “The Bitcoin Experiment,” there were several flashbacks throughout the episode. Howard has lost his mother and got married while Leonard and Penny are now married.

Raj is still talking about Avatar, but Sheldon Cooper has changed the least.

In the flashback, Sheldon Cooper brings up bitcoin when he asked Stuart if his business will accept it. Then, Sheldon tells the guys how bitcoin works and how it can be mined online.

“You don’t have to buy bitcoin, you can mine it,” said Sheldon Cooper. “There’s a limited amount and we find it by using a computer to solve complex problems,” he said.

If you look back, you’ll notice that Sheldon Cooper has changed the least; both in his demeanor and even the tee shirt he’s wearing.

One Prank To Rule Them All

Later in the episode, we eventually find out that Sheldon stole the bitcoin and installed it on Leonard’s flash drive. In an effort to trick his friends (a classic Bazinga move), he made this move years earlier.

Now, Leonard must tell his friend that he lost the flash drive years before. Essentially, Sheldon actually robbed his friends even though he only meant to play a small trick on them.

While they never reveal the total amount, it sounds like Sheldon Cooper cost everyone tens of thousands of dollars. Based on his pranks of the past, perhaps this one will be large enough that he finally stops pranking his friends.

Despite the fact that Sheldon will soon be getting married, his character has certainly not matured much. When it comes to major story arcs, many of his tendencies, quirks, and revenge attempts are no different than the first season.

Do you think Sheldon Cooper will ever stop these childish pranks?
