Glenn Rhee Is Gone, But Not Forgotten

On The Walking Dead, Glenn Rhee is gone, but far from forgotten. The iconic character was around since the very first episode of the series, but unfortunately he didn’t make it past Negan’s official introduction.

Glenn was killed off in the Season 7 premiere, back on October 23, 2016. Since playing the apocalyptic pizza boy and walker killer, the actor hasn’t opened up about the show until recently.

Perhaps Yeun’s silence was due to all of the controversy around the show.

After many fans left the show, due to the violence Negan brought with him, the only chatter was rather quiet from the cast and crew over both Glenn and Abraham’s death. At recent events, however, both spoke about their beloved roles.

In addition, Michael Cudlitz even came back for the Season 7 finale, where he could be found in a few of Sasha’s flashbacks. These were new scenes, written for the finale, rather than clips of old episodes.

Steven Yeun may also make a cameo like this in an upcoming season.

“I will leave it open to what makes sense. I wouldn’t want anybody to force anything but if it makes sense, then I am totally down,” said the actor, in regards to coming back to the show as Glenn, even for a flashback cameo.

Glenn never appeared in The Walking Dead comic since Issue #100, where he’s killed by Negan, but the comics are less likely to include a flashback. The AMC version, however, has more wiggle room to include new stories with old characters.

In the past, characters like the Governor, Beth, Lizzie, Mika, and Lori returned for hallucination sequences, so perhaps we’ll even see a glimpse of Glenn in Maggie’s thoughts as she prepares to raise their child.

Do you think we’ll see Glenn again in Season 8?
