Fear The Walking Dead Gears Up For Season 3

There hasn’t been a huge campaign for Season 3 of Fear the Walking Dead, especially if you’re not watching other AMC shows like Better Call Saul. With Season 3 in the lineup now, the show still remains a strange accessory to the original.

Unlike Better Call Saul, a prequel for Breaking Bad, Fear the Walking Dead wants to be its own thing, so there’s not really any mention of similar characters within the two worlds of Walking Dead and Fear.

Despite the oddity, the show lives on.

Fear the Walking Dead does several things right, but it’s never even been close to reaching the same audience as the original. However, since Season 7 was so rough on The Walking Dead, Season 8 has a lot to live up to.

Another opening for Fear comes from the fact that it’s not an adaptation. Fear the Walking Dead has an advantage because it doesn’t have to live up to anything, nor does it have to stick with a storyline.

Fear can really open itself up to new characters and new situations never seen before.

Fear Has Unique Opportunity With New Season

Forbes contributor Paul Tassi writes:

“I have hope that this year might be when Fear the Walking Dead gets it right. I have heard good buzz about the early episodes from critics who have seen screeners, and if nothing else, we get to solve a lot of problems with The Walking Dead season seven right off the bat.”

“New locations, new enemies, not being locked into the same spot fighting the same sort of large-scale cyclical wars. The Walking Dead has now trapped itself in this narrative about trying to build a community and defend it which is often somewhat boring. The cast of Fear the Walking Dead is still on the run, trying to save their own skins, which is often the more exciting style of storyline.”
