Since Amy said “Yes,” Sheldon Cooper is going to have to remove himself from the spotlight. He got his first taste of this in the premiere episode. While visiting with Amy, he was pushed aside for her academic brilliance.
Sheldon Cooper isn’t used to being pushed out of the spotlight. Fans are going to see even more of the reason why in Young Sheldon on CBS. Present Sheldon got his first real taste of second place at Amy’s dinner.
Amy Farrah Fowler was excited to share with her colleagues the news of her engagement. Sheldon couldn’t handle everyone ignoring him.

This really kicked in for Sheldon when he got back home. Amy told him that he needs to share the spotlight, but the conversation turned to a fight. After she stormed off, Sheldon could only storm into the bathroom.
While sitting on the edge of the tub, he once again Skyped with genius Stephen Hawking. The mentor told him congratulations but Sheldon could only focus on the events of the night.
Eventually, when he made a comment about the others only talking about Amy in front of a genius, Hawking subtlety said he was doing the same thing!

In the end, Sheldon Cooper made a childlike anecdote about his recent Marvel movies. Essentially, he understands that there’s a reason for Iron Man to be in a Captain America movie, although it’s only a cameo.
Sheldon may have taken this to mean his spotlight is in Los Angeles while hers is in Princeton, but hopefully, he understands it further. There’s going to be a lot more give and take for the relationship to work out.
Essentially, for Sheldon, he understands it takes a team to make up The Avengers. It’s taken Sheldon Cooper a decade to understand social subtleties, but he’s getting there. Amy may be the one to take him all the way to becoming almost normal.
