Thinning The Herd, Season 8

Season 7’s slow pace was essentially gearing up for an action-packed Season 8, where fans can expect to see lots of bloodshed in Rick’s All-Out War. Actors like Simon Ogg have already said they plan to “thin the herd.”

Ogg’s comments are referring to the dozens of main characters rather than the thousands of walkers. More and more characters have been introduced and both sides are about to start taking out pawns.

Chandler Riggs recently confirmed “lots of killing” in the new season.

Chandler Riggs, who plays Carl Grimes, told an Australian radio station, “Season 7 was all about building up and getting everyone ready to fight against Negan, and this season there’s going to be lots of explosions, lots of killing, a lot more Negan, Lots of fighting, lots of cool stuff. It’s really, really fun this season.”

“We’ve had a few characters this season who I feel so bad for because they’re coming in in the midst of all the war and the craziness with the explosions and everything,” he said.

“I mean I definitely feel like an OG or a veteran because I’ve been on since I was ten. I still love it. I still have so much fun doing it. Especially in the last few seasons, getting to do more and more with my character and interactions with the other characters. It’s been really, really awesome.”

Major Deaths Just Around The Corner

When the show returns in October, we predict that some of the major deaths from the comic will happen on the big screen. Unfortunately, this means some major characters are going to die right away.

Last year we lost Glenn, Abraham, Spencer, Benjamin, Richard, Olivia, and Sasha, among others. This year, we’re probably going to lose Shiva the Tiger and Aaron’s boyfriend Eric early on in the war.

Do you think any other major characters will die in the premiere?
