First daughter Ivanka Trump, is a star on the rise. Over the last few weeks, she has proven she can hold her own in the fast-paced world of D.C. politics. From sitting in on meetings with Japanese PM Shinzo Abe, to roundtable discussions with Canadian PM Justin Trudeau, she is carving out her own niche on a global stage.

During Trudeau’s visit to the White House, he and President Trump announced the formation of the “Canada-United States Council for Advancement of Women Entrepreneurs and Business Leaders.” An initiative to inspire women spearheaded by Ivanka who noted:

Women’s empowerment is central to economic growth and job creation.

Mainstream media touted her presence at the meeting as “inappropriate” suggesting that she had no valid reason for being there.

However, as a successful businesswoman and working mother, she clearly understands the need for women “to have a seat at the table.”
