2Illegal Immigrant Accused Of Rape On The Run

A previously reported illegal immigrant is on the run after a judge in Boston decided not to detain the illegal. The man posed as an Uber driver and lied about his name. He allegedly raped a woman who got into his vehicle.
The woman was picked up while using the mobile ride app last September and driven to a location she didn’t request. He then raped her and dropped her off at Boston College where she was able to flag down police.
The man named Luis Baez is now on the run. ICE agents are now hunting down the man who has now disappeared.
The state judge put the man on a light bail rather than deciding to detain him.
Fox News reports:
“ICE agents are now trying to locate Baez, who was released on $2,500 bail by Newton District Court Judge Mary Beth Heffernan. He disappeared before ICE could file a detainer to keep him in custody, the Herald reported.”
“Baez, originally from the Dominican Republic, was previously deported and that fact was reportedly brought up to Heffernan by prosecutors, who wanted a $100,000 bail and GPS monitoring to ensure he would not flee.”
