Kathy Griffin earned herself a visit from the Secret Service. Finally. What took them so long? Griffin was questioned by federal agents for over an hour this week, in what could turn out to be a long investigation.

CNN removed her as co-host of their New Year’s Eve bash with Anderson Cooper and several venues canceled her remaining comedy tour appearances. Griffin issued a tearful apology on social media but quickly changed her posture to that of the victim. Late last month she held a press conference, where she accused President Trump and his family of bullying her over the photo, and whined that her career had been ruined.

Dmitry Gorin, Griffin’s criminal defense attorney, contends the actress was just exercising her “constitutional rights” by doing the photo shoot. “She basically exercised her First Amendment rights to tell a joke,” said Gorin. “When you look at everything in the media, all the time entertainers make videos or express themselves in other ways, you’ve never seen an entertainer, let alone a comedian, be subject to a criminal investigation.”

Apparently, Gorin skipped constitutional law classes, because inciting violence through speech is not covered under the umbrella of the First Amendment. Obama ethics czar, Norm Eisen, weighed in on the Secret Service’ investigation of Griffin on Twitter, comparing her actions to President Trump’s CNN-WWE video.

“If authorities r [email protected] */]]> video so seriously, shouldn’t they also question trump re his video [email protected] */]]> 18 usc 875?”

Yes, because body slamming a logo is the same as someone suggesting the murder of a U.S. President, right?

The Secret Service investigation is still ongoing-it is not yet known if or when any criminal charges may be filed in the case.
