An excited Norman Reedus finally got his wish, Johnny Depp’s severed head. The head originated from the Walking Dead episode, Not Tomorrow Yet. Reedus was so excited in fact, that he posted a picture of the decapitated head on Instagram today. Not Tomorrow Yet, originally aired during Season 6 of the Walking Dead. The episode contained several, very grotesque, severed heads. Each head was modeled after a different actor or member of the Walking Dead crew. One head resembled Greg Nicotero, co-executive producer of the Walking Dead. Another of the heads, very closely resembles the A-list celebrity, Johnny Depp.

“I think we had sculpted an emaciated version of a dummy head for something and we used Johnny Depp’s head as a basis just for a clay sculpt,” stated Nicotero. “I think one of the funniest moments we’ve shot in the season is when the Savior sticks his hand inside the head and puppeteers it to start talking. I laughed so hard when we shot that scene.”

According to Nicotero, Norman Reedus claimed his rights to the severed head resembling Johnny Depp as soon as they completed shooting the episode.

“Norman kept saying he wanted the heads when we were done shooting. I said we’ve got to wait until the picture is logged,” said Nicotero.

After a long wait, Reedus finally got what he asked for. Finally, the heads were sent off to Reedus. After he had the head in his possession, he posted a picture of it on Instagram. Johnny Depp’s severed head could be seen all over the internet. Norman took the picture in his dressing room. He placed the head next to a giant blow up of the Pink Panther. There was also a duffle bag that clearly has ‘Norman Reedus’ embroidered on it.

But the picture in general raises brows as a great, “What the Hell,” type photo. It definitely makes you look twice, while scratching your forehead in confusion.

The Walking Dead cast is known for their fun and lighthearted attitude on and off set. Reedus has even been known to go so far as too show up on set nude in order to stop the scene from being filmed with his stunt double. Clearly they’re all great friends who’ve supported each other during the filming of the Walking Dead. It shows, considering the show is one of the highest rated on television to date with record breaking numbers of nearly every season premier.

The Walking Dead will return on October 23rd at 9 PM ET on AMC. You can get caught up with Season 6 on Blu-Ray or Netflix in certain areas.
