3The production company behind Duck Dynasty (Gurney Productions) just filed a $100 million lawsuit against ITV studios.

ITV acquired most of Gurney Productions and is looking to buy the rest of the company. However, Gurney is fighting back.

Their lawsuit accuses ITV of carefully crafting an “outrageous campaign of intimidation and extortion” in order to pay less for acquiring Gurney. And this is after ITV sued Gurney last month. They said Gurney “misappropriated funds in an attempt to increase their own profits.”

Gurney’s attorney, Michael Weinstein, spoke out.

“This is a blatant, desperate attempt at intimidation by ITV, a classic greedy corporate grab,” he said.

Gurney filed the lawsuit January 10.

“The actions taken by ITV and its appointed board members are reprehensible,” Weinsten said. “My clients will not be intimated by their outrageous, strong-arm tactics to acquire my client’s interest in Gurney Productions at a massively discounted price. We will hold each of these defendants personally accountable for the many millions in economic damages to my clients, and damage to their good name and reputation.”

The lawsuit lists ITV executives Brent Montgomery, Andrew Garard, and David McGraynor as defendants alongside Gurney the company.

Maybe it’s time for Duck Dynasty to be canceled

All this bickering and fighting — this is not representative of the Robertsons or Duck Dynasty. They are, as you know, a wholesome, loving, Christian family who does not seek out lawsuits over nickels and dimes. For example, you can see instances of that here, here, and here.

Maybe Korie Robertson was right. Maybe it’s time for Duck Dynasty to go off the air. That way, the Robertsons can disassociate themselves with these lawsuits and quarrels.
