It is official. Johnny Galecki is set to star in the latest installment of the Rings franchise. Galecki has certainly come a long way since his days as David Healy on Roseanne. He has also starred in such awesome films such as Suicide Kings, Hancock, and Bookies. But did you also know that he has recently gained his own production company?

Galecki opened the doors to his Warner Bros. based production label, Alcide Bava Productions, which will develop TV series and feature films. It was also announced that former De Line Pictures President Andrew Haas has joined Galecki as his producing partner and is also the Vice President of Alcide Bava. The label is producing writer-director Bobby Miller’s The Master Cleanse, which stars Galecki, Anna Friel, Anjelica Huston and Oliver Platt.

The Master Cleanse

Galecki plays the main role in the Master Cleanse as Paul. Similar to Rings, this is also a horror movie. The Master Cleanse centers on a heartbroken man who attends a spiritual retreat, only to discover that the course releases more than everyday toxins and traumatic experiences. Probably the patients’ inner monsters or something.

Not too much is known about the film when consulting IMBD and Wikipedia, however, it premiered at South by Southwest on March 13, 2016. It also has a wicked looking theatrical poster. Upon further investigation, I have also discovered that the film is actually rather short. The running time is only 81 minutes. Less than an hour and a half!

The poster and plot seem very intriguing to me, despite the low running time. Though it seems that the Master Cleanse hasn’t gotten a wide release yet, I may be keeping it on my radar. There is a clip available here:

You can head over to the film’s website, http://themastercleansefilm.com/

There are promises of more screening dates to come. You will also find several press interviews, reviews, and even some photography. Though the reviews may contain spoilers, so proceed with caution. Social media accounts for the film are also listed. The Master Cleanse has a Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.

The website itself is pretty basic. There are no flashy graphics to scare you with. It’s all pretty straight forward information. Galecki is probably going for a more artsy type of horror flick. If you want more information on the film, check out the social media links and the press releases. Note that the press releases are in a downloadable PDF format.

Now that Johnny has his production company underway, who knows what else we will be seeing from him in the future? Especially since the Big Bang Theory is supposedly going to wrap up after season ten. Maybe we’ll see the other cast members in a Galecki produced film.
