Jim Parsons married Todd Spiewak this weekend at an intimate ceremony in NYC. Big Bang Theory fans can’t help but wonder if this is foreshadowing of what’s to come for Sheldon Cooper onscreen.

Jim Parson and Todd Spiewak tied the knot this weekend at the Rainbow Room in NYC in front of friends and family. They stood under a beautiful chupah and professed their love to one another. In attendance was cast mate Mayim Bialik, who reported that no cell phones were allowed at the ceremony. It appears the men wanted their ceremony to be a quiet, thoughtful event.

The big celebration comes just days after we watched Sheldon Cooper get down on one knee and ask Amy Farrah Fowler to take the next big step with him. Sheldon flew to New Jersey after kissing Ramona, and promptly knocked on Amy’s door to ask, “Will you marry me?” Fans were left hanging, and won’t know Amy’s answer until the season 11 premiere in September.
Was Jim Parsons taking a cue from Sheldon when he decided to finally tie the knot with long time partner Todd Spiewak? Todd and Jim have been in a committed relationship for nearly 15 years now, so we can’t help but wonder if Jim was feeling inspired by his onscreen character. Is this perhaps an indication that Jim knows Sheldon and Amy will be married?

That may be a stretch. If Jim knows something, he certainly hasn’t shared it with his onscreen love. Mayim Bialik revealed this week that she has no idea what Amy’s answer will be. She wrote, ” please don’t ask me if I know what Amy’s going to respond in the season opener of season 11…because I don’t know! Your guess is as good as mine! Sure, I have opinions and ideas… as an actor and a writer, I could see this playing out several ways. But that’s not my job right now. My job is to wait through the summer to see what our writers decide….”
We hope Sheldon and Amy live together happily ever after, just as we wish for Jim Parsons and Todd Spiewak.
