Phil Robertson never shies away from expressing his opinion. He’s not afraid to be “politically incorrect.” It’s no surprise that he had an opinion about the Boy Scouts of America’s recent decision to allow girls to join their troops.

Phil Robertson On The Boyscouts

Earlier this week news broke that the Boy Scouts of America will allow girls to join their organization, and even earn the prestigious Eagle Award. The chief executive of Boy Scouts stated, “We believe it is critical to evolve how our programs meet the needs of families interested in positive and lifelong experiences for their children…”

However, Cub Scout dens will still be single gender. There will be girl troops and boy troops. Many are quick to point out that there are little differences between joining an all-girl Boy Scouts troop or joining an all-girl Girl Scouts group.

Of course, Phil Robertson had an opinion on this topic. The conservative man of faith has a reputation for speaking his mind. He doesn’t like progressiveness. He said, “Most media are ashamed of America, its values, and just has an aversion to plain old common sense…What did I hear today? That a girl can now be a Boy Scout? The name is ‘Boy Scout.’ How hard is that to understand?”

Phil’s New Show

Phil made the statement while promoting his new show, In the Woods With Phil. The show will premiere on the CRTV network, a conservative online-streaming network. Phil promoted the show saying, “What does a man do when they try to run him out of town for quoting a Bible verse? I tell you what he does; he goes deep in the woods,” Robertson says in a promotional video for the new show. “For far too long we have been told to shut up. No more. Here’s the deal, America. These are my woods. Out here, I call the shots. Out here, we reject political correctness, or as I like to say, ‘pontificated crap.’”

We wonder what Phil would have to say about Sadie or Merritt Robertson joining the boy scouts. They’re certainly capable, outdoorsy girls. We’d love to hear Phil Robertson’s opinion on that.
