2018 is fast approaching and that means the oh-so-important mid-terms elections are just around the corner. Democrats have made it clear that their goal is to take back Congress and oust President Trump. But if Shaun Brown is the best they can do then conservatives have nothing to fear.
Shaun Brown, a Virginia Democrat, is vying for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives. She is also under indictment on charges of fraud, embezzlement, and theft. Brown appeared in a Norfolk courtroom last Friday where she denied the charges.
According to prosecutors, Brown fraudulently received just over $800,000 from her non-profit organization. Co-founded by Brown and her mother Jenever, the charity participated in the Department of Agriculture’s Summer Food Service Program.
However, rather than helping the less fortunate, the political candidate is accused of “padding the numbers.” Per the indictment, Brown encouraged employees to increase the number of low-income children served meals by her non-profit.
As a result of the inflated statistics, the Democrat allegedly pocketed hundreds of thousands in extra reimbursements. In a statement to the Newport News Daily Press, Brown admitted there are “problems” with her program. “I want the irregularities corrected,” she said. “I want to see the program improve.”
In what we’re sure is no coincidence, Brown and her mother are currently suing the USDA and the Virginia Department of Health for discrimination. Filed just weeks before the indictment, the lawsuit alleges both defendants delayed payments and falsified reimbursements and claims for reimbursements.
Mother and daughter are seeking $10 million in damages.
The Party of Fraud
Sad as this is, it’s not an isolated problem in the Democratic party. The Clinton Foundation is a perfect example of how some Democrats exploit the hardships of others for personal gain. And investigations into donors yielded allegations of blackmail and pay-to-play schemes.
Suffice it to say, the last thing the country needs is another greedy politician like Shaun Brown in Congress. Especially when they’re willing to steal from the people. The good news is Republican Rep. Scott Taylor defeated her back in 2016, For the sake of hard-working Virginians and Americans, let’s hope the outcome next year is similar.
