Photo Credit: foxnews.com For over two decades, millions of Americans tuned-in to watch shows like “Law & Order” and “Law & Order: SVU.” Now, the series creator, Dick Wolf, wants to offer fans an inside look at the F.B.I. Joined by documentary filmmaker, Marc Levin, the two men have filmed a new television series titled “Inside the FBI: New York.”
FBI Director, James Comey, greenlighted the project hoping it would change American’s perspective about the agency’s failing public image. “We have to care what people think of us,” Comey said at a showing of the new series at the Newseum in Washington, DC. “The faith and confidence of the American people is the bedrock,” he said.
Filming of the series took place at the FBI headquarters in NY between September 2015 and September 2016 and covered major events such as the Paris terror attack and the bombing in Chelsea, NY. However, it is not yet known if the series addresses the real reason Comey’s FBI has lost the public’s trust.

“Because they are seeing the world … they see the world through sides. If you see the world through sides, the FBI doesn’t make a lot of sense to you,” said Comey. He is absolutely right about it not making sense. Why would it make sense to not prosecute a corrupt government employee who got Americans killed in Benghazi and willfully violated national security?
Comey came under intense scrutiny for twice refusing to prosecute former Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, after it was discovered she mishandled thousands of classified documents. While he does admit the FBI “did a lot to confuse people” during the presidential election, he feels no accountability for his failure to prosecute Clinton.
Comey openly acknowledged that the FBI is “not on anybody’s side” and made it clear where they stand saying “we really don’t care.” Good to know, right? And yet he still wonders why the people don’t trust him? The series premiers April 27th on USA Network.
