In a recent Q&A session, Sadie Robertson opened up about her sometimes overwhelming fears.
During an event at the CrossWalk Conference Center of the Green Acres Baptist Church in Tyler, Texas, Sadie and her mom Korie answered some questions. The event, “Fearfully and Wonderfully Made,” was meant to help women live with courage and confidence.
First, Korie went onstage and, at the interviewer’s request, spoke about her six kids, some parenting strategies, and the future. She said she doesn’t expect to ever have an empty house — once all of her kids leave the house (her youngest being 13), she wants her future grandchildren to visit a lot.
And when Korie was done, they welcomed Sadie onto the stage — and that’s when things got interesting.
At just 19 years old, Sadie is a role model to so many young girls around the country. She talked about her YouTube channel and her books, but the topic that stood out was Dancing With The Stars and how fear almost kept her from doing it. Fear is a topic she’s talked about before…
Fear can taunt you, but it can’t touch you unless you let it.
“I would wake up and I was scared,” she has said about her anxiety. “I would go to bed and I was scared. I would go through the day and I was scared, constantly in this state of fear.”
The fear was so bad during Dancing With The Stars that she had her friend run her Twitter account for her. She would cry after the judges were hard on her.
But she talked about letting God lead. She even got a “Fearless” tattoo to remind herself.
