Phil Robertson has been very active on his Facebook page recently. He mainly posts articles with a brief comment of his own. This time, he took on the topic of abortion.
Planned Parenthood Executive VP Dawn Laguens talked with Fox News host Tucker Carlson on the topic. And the article Phil posted on Facebook revealed a “lack of moral compass in an organization that touts itself as a women’s health care provider that specializes in reproductive health care.”
This sentence in the article was inspired by a pressing question from Carlson. He prefaced it with the fact that over 300,000 abortions happen every year, most of them being after five and a half weeks.
“That’s the point at which the fetal heartbeat can be detected,” Carlson continued. “I’m just wondering, as someone who works there, what do you think of that? What is being aborted? If you can hear the heartbeat, what is that thing that’s being aborted? How do you feel about that?”
Laguens’ evasive answer drove home the point that Carlson’s question eluded to — abortion is difficult to justify.
“Abortion isn’t about ‘choice,’ it’s about whether or not it’s OK to end an innocent life,” Phil posted on Facebook. “Plain and simple.”
This is not a surprising stance for Phil. He’s spoken out on the topic before, comparing it to ISIS.
“We’ve killed 60 million of our own children,” he said. “ISIS is saying to us, ‘Well, if you didn’t think your own children were worth anything, why do you think we’re worried about what your life is worth? We don’t think you’re worth anything, that’s why we’re killing you. Just like you kill your children, that’s why we kill you. We don’t think you’re worth anything.’”
