Honoring a Hero

President Trump just gave his first speech to Congress on Tuesday night, and it was a monumental victory for America. In its entirety, the speech all but guaranteed that Trump will remain our president for eight years.

There was one particular moment in his presentation that even CNN’s Van Jones had to acknowledge. That moment was when President Trump honored Carryn Owens, widow of fallen Navy SEAL William “Ryan” Owens. After calling everyone’s attention to Mrs. Owens, Trump said:

“Ryan died as he lived: a warrior, and a hero — battling against terrorism and securing our nation. Ryan’s legacy is etched into eternity. For as the Bible teaches us, there is no greater act of love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. Ryan laid down his life for his friends, for his country, and for our freedom — we will never forget him.”

Mrs. Owens was visibly moved as members of Congress rose to their feet and applauded for a full two minutes. But there were those that refused to even acknowledge the crying widow.

As you can see from the photo above, Democrats Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Keith Ellison, Bernie Sanders, and a host of others couldn’t even manage to clap for Mrs. Owens. This deplorable demonstration clearly shows that for Democrats…

Hate “Trumps” Honor

Speaking about Trump’s honoring of Mrs. Owens, Van Jones said it was

“One of the most extraordinary moments you have ever seen in American politics, period.”

It just wasn’t extraordinary enough to move the stone-faced Democrats who were content to disrespect a widow just to defy President Trump. They had an opportunity to shine.

Instead, they chose to remain enshrouded in the dark and dismal hatred they have for Trump. But it wasn’t just Trump they dishonored. They dishonored all the brave military men and women who have sacrificed it all for their country.

They dishonored America.
