JUST IN: Blake Shelton Is the 2017 “Sexiest Man Alive!”

Blake Shelton has many titles. Judge on The VoiceHit country artist. Boyfriend of Gwen Stefani. The list goes on. But he just received a new title. And of this one he says, “I can’t wait to shove this up Adam [Levine’s] ass!”

“Sexiest Man Alive”

It isn’t hard to figure why the 6′ 5″ Shelton garnered the 2017 title of People Magazine‘s 2017 Sexiest Man Alive. A tall drink of water who does amazing things to a pair of jeans, Shelton cuts a sharp silhouette. Plus he has the voice to boot. What’s not to love?

However, he was hesitant to accept the title. In his People interview about the story, he joked that they must be digging at the bottom of the barrel. When asked what he thought when he was told he’d won, Shelton replied, “That y’all must be running out of people. Like, Wow, we’re down to somebody who is somewhat symmetrical.”

He said it was his girlfriend, Gwen Stefani, who convinced him to embrace it. Shelton said that she told him, “Listen to me, you’re going to regret this for the rest of your life if you don’t take this gift and just live in the moment.” And so he decided to accept it.

But that certainly wasn’t his only motivation in accepting!

Stick it to Adam

Shelton has a friendly rivalry with fellow Voice judge, Adam Levine. Levine was the 2013 Sexiest Man Alive. So now, Shelton gets to stick it to him. “I can’t wait to shove this up Adam’s ass,” Shelton boasted. “As proud as I am and honored that you guys asked me, that’s really the only thing I care about.”

For a guy who described himself as an overweight kid with awkward phases, it’s hard to imagine it’s the only thing he cares about. But it certainly has to ice the cake!

And what a cake to ice. In addition to his new award, Shelton’s new album just hit No. 1 this week. Texoma Shore follows If I’m Honest, his last album release that also went to the top.
