For those of you who loved Reba McEntire‘s show Reba (and who didn’t?), here’s some good news. The show may be back on the air. It isn’t certain as yet, but McEntire is in talks with studio executives and announced that she hopes it will return. What’s more, she also recently announced that she may have some other exciting television projects in the works.

The desire to return

It wouldn’t be unheard of for a television show to return. In fact, many previously popular shows are finding their way back. Will & Grace, for example, returned last year. And for McEntire, the idea for a comeback isn’t new at all.

In mid-2017, she told Entertainment Tonight that it was certainly possible she might resume her role as Reba Hart. “There have been some in the past and hopefully some in the future too,” she told them. “We’d love to do it.”

And as Country Fancast reported, McEntire recently added two new bits of information to that statement. The first was a reiteration of her desire to do Reba again. “Everybody was wanting to do that. We’d love it. If everybody else would go for it, meaning the heads of the networks and things, all the actors are for it 100%.” Now all there is to do is wait for the networks to get it done.

The second was that she is open to other television series, as well. Yes, McEntire affirmed her interest in being back on television, even if it’s in a different role.

Her dream role

So just what is her dream role?

As Country Fancast also reported, McEntire‘s dream role could be a number of things. “A dream role would be ten different kinds because I would like to hit all facets, you know the kooky neighbor down the hall or the heroine in a western,” she said. “There’s just so many different types. I love to watch television. I love movies. So acting is something that it entertains me. Television and movies entertain me so I love to be entertained but I also love to entertain people.”

Fingers crossed

And so she has. In addition to her six-year run as Reba Hart, she also played in Malibu Country 2012-2013. She also had a role on Red Blooded, but it didn’t get picked up last year. So fingers crossed! Maybe 2018 will bring us Reba again.
