5The 80th birthday celebration for Rolling Stones co-founder Bill Wyman included Robert Plant.

 

Robert Plant joined Mark Knopfler, Bob Geldof, and other legends who honored a man that had a deep impact on the music industry. The incredible live performance was held as part of Blues Fest at Indigo2 in London and could be the hottest music ticket of the decade.

According to Blues Fest director Leo Green,” this Bill Wyman concert was one of the gigs of the year.  The addition of Robert Plant to an already monumental lineup is a clear indicator of the vast influence this incredible musician has had on the music world and we’re delighted that he’s chosen to celebrate this milestone birthday with us–who knows who else might turn up on the night to jump up onstage.”

Wyman, co-founder of The Rolling Stones, was with the band from 1962-1993 returning briefly during the 50 and Counting Tour in 2012. According to The Rolling Stones Wyman did not want to continue any longer with the band. Wyman telling Gibson, “thirty years was great, but I’ve got better things to be doing now. That time has gone.”
