Attention Disney collectors: you’re gonna need to save some serious cash for October. Toy company Funko has announced that six new Disney Princess vinyl figures will be coming soon.
Funko Pop! vinyl figures based on Disney princesses have been around for a while. These new figures, though, have been completely redesigned. The new figures are designed specifically to show off their beautiful gowns.
Here’s how Funko describes the new figures:

Here’s a closer look at all six new figures:
Ariel – The Little Mermaid

As you can see, Ariel is in human form for her new Pop! Vinyl figure. She’s showing off the famous pink and white dress she wears in The Little Mermaid. It’s the same dress she wears when she attempts to woo Prince Eric for the first time.
Belle – Beauty and the Beast

If you’re going to make a figure of Belle showing off her ballgown, there’s only one dress you can go with. Belle wears a lot of different outfits in Beauty and the Beast, but it’s her bright yellow ballgown that has become synonymous with the movie. It’s the same dress she wears in the famous ballroom dance sequence with the Beast.
Cinderella – Cinderella

Just like Belle, there’s really only one dress from the movie Cinderella to showcase. It is, of course, the beautiful blue ball gown created by Cinderella’s fairy godmother. It was poor Cinderella’s only option after her cruel stepsisters destroyed her mother’s old dress, of course.
Rapunzel – Tangled

Although the new figures were specifically designed to showcase the princess’ dresses, with Rapunzel it’s all about the hair. Her lovely dress is blowing in the wind, but it’s her long hair decorated with flowers that steals the attention in this figure.
Tiana – The Princess and the Frog

Normally, Tiana dolls and figures are made with her green “lilypad” dress. So it’s refreshing to see this new Princess and the Frog figure using the blue masquerade ball gown instead. In the movie, Charlotte loaned the iconic outfit to Tiana, which caused her to be mistaken for a princess.
Ariel – The Little Mermaid (Sparkly Version)

This variant of the new Ariel figure will be available exclusively at Hot Topic. It’s literally the exact same Little Mermaid figure shown above, with one slight change. A sparkly, glittery sheen has been applied to her iconic pink dress. It may be a gimmick, but it’s a good one. This is definitely the more impressive of the two figures. So, unless you’re a completist and have to buy both, this is the one to go with.
