Edgar Wright got started with the nicknamed “Three Flavors” series, which includes Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and The World’s End. The comedy-horror-action films created somewhat of a new genre that certainly led to Baby Driver.

The film is set to hit theaters on June 28, 2017.

A-Class Actors Sign On For Wright’s New Film

Baby Driver stars a plethora of actors, including Ansel Elgort, Jon Bernthal, Jon Hamm, Kevin Spacey, Jamie Foxx, and Lily James. The movie looks somewhat like a Quentin Tarantino or Guy Ritchie movie as it blends action and comedy.

IMDB writes, “After being coerced into working for a crime boss, a young getaway driver finds himself taking part in a heist doomed to fail.” Wright is both the writer and director on the film.

Jon Bernthal stars as Griff in Baby Driver.

Deadline reports:

“This one ought to play large with the Comic-Con crowd. Edgar Wright has finished casting his film Baby Driver for TriStar and Media Rights Capital, and he has set Jon Bernthal for the key role of Griff.”

“Bernthal, most fondly remembered for The Walking Dead but who also shone recently in a small role in Sicario, joins a great cast. Here’s the cast and what they do: the pic follows a crime boss named Doc (Kevin Spacey), who coerces a young, talented getaway driver known as Baby (Ansel Elgort) to work for him.”

“Baby relies on the beat of his personal soundtrack to shield him from the chaos that surrounds him, but he must face the music when a doomed heist threatens his life, love and freedom.”
