Omar Navarro is a 28-year old Latino conservative living in Southern California. He has seen first-hand, the neglect and poverty that has gone unchecked by Democratic lawmakers. And now he is taking on the biggest mission of his young life. Navarro is gearing up to take on Maxine Waters in 2020, and his campaign is already gaining momentum.

This isn’t the first-time Navarro has made headlines. Back in May, he led dozens of protestors who gathered outside Water’s LA home to chant “Impeach Maxine.” The group included several members of the black community, as well as, members from “Latinos for Trump.” Just to up the irritation factor, Navarro also brought along a local mariachi band.

Speaking to Breitbart, Navarro expressed his frustration with Waters. “When I realized Maxine Waters was my representative, I said, ‘Wow, this person is representing me? How are people electing this person year after year?’ I started doing research and looking into her background and I did not see one candidate running a legitimate campaign against her in 27 years.”

Navarro earned his criminal justice degree from ITT tech before taking courses in Information Security at the University of Southern California. But, it’s his love of community and his anger at career politicians that are behind his bid for Congress. “I want to run,” Navarro said.

“I want to make a difference in my community. I want to impact my community. I’m tired of all these politicians not doing anything for us. They’re not changing anything. I want to be that person.”

In 2016, Navarro made a run at Waters and received 25% of the vote. And he did it by raising only $3,000 compared to the $650,000 she spent against him. This time around, however, he has raised $31,000 in individual contributions, which is $5,000 more than Waters has raised so far.

One of Navarro’s focuses during the campaign will be economic and business growth. Two issues that have floundered during Waters’ tenure. Solving homelessness, protecting the Second Amendment, halting illegal immigration, and providing better care and treatment for veterans are also on his agenda. Navarro held a fundraiser last week at Trump National Golf Club in Rancho Palos Verdes where he made his intentions clear:

“Maxine Waters if you’re listening, I’m coming for you.”
