Country stars are gone from home a lot, touring, signing autographs at events, doing radio interviews, etcetera etcetera. So, many times, they don’t spend very much time with their loved ones. This would cause a rift within the family, right?

Maybe sometimes, but some big names in the country world don’t fit neatly into stereotypical boxes. We’d like to highlight some artists who are wholly committed to their family and investing in what truly matters.

JAY DEMARCUS

Jay Demarcus

When Demarcus’ 5-year-old daughter, Madeline, met her younger brother for the first time, she frantically waved at him and exclaimed, “Baby, baby! Hi, baby!” She leaned over, kissed his cheek, and patted his baby hand.

“It was one of those moments I’ll never forget as long as I live,” Demarcus said.

That kind of love comes from the top down; kids learn by observation and imitation.

JEWEL

In July 2011, Jewel gave birth to her son, Kase, and it changed her perspective for good.

“Seeing what a great dad your husband is makes you love him more,” Jewel said about husband Ty Murray. “It’s a whole new romance.”

ERIC CHURCH

Church, the Grammy-nominated songwriter, was stumped when it came to putting words to the birth of his son Boone.

“Everyone always tells you what an awesome and unique experience being a parent is, but words can never do the feeling justice,” he said. “The way our life changed in that 24-hour period alone … was awesome.”

JUSTIN MOORE

Baby girl Kennedy Faye joined the Moore family tree and her big sister, Ella. Kennedy has loving, nostalgic parents too.

“Faye was my grandmother’s name … so we thought it would be a great way to remember her,” Moore said.

DIERKS BENTLEY

Having a daughter really flips your world upside down. Having a second probably spins your world backwards. It’s all good though. Bentley’s life has changed for the positive.

“[Fatherhood] changes your life,” he said. “Kids really give you a perspective of what’s important – and that’s family.”

KEITH URBAN

Although Urban has stayed very busy, he finds time for his two wonderful daughters, Sunday and Faith. His star-actress wife, Nicole Kidman, is very grateful, obviously.

“[I wake] up in the morning going, ‘Thank you, God,’” she said.

JOE DON ROONEY

The Rascal Flatts guitarist Joe Don Rooney puts a lot of meaning into his children’s names, as would any parent. A name is a big part of someone’s identity.

“Raquel feels right,” said, Rooney, who already has a son named Jagger. “[Raquel] felt right in my gut and my heart,” Rooney told PEOPLE.

LUKE BRYAN

Bryan’s wife, Caroline, gave birth to their second son in August 2010. Thomas, their first son, had to adjust to the new family addition.

“Sometimes he’ll walk up and poke [Tate] in the eye, but mostly he just tries to love on him too hard,” Bryan told PEOPLE.

But it’s all pretty much love in this family.

JOSH TURNER

Boys rule the Turner house. With sons, Hampton, Colby, and Crawford, their house stays quite busy.

“We have friends who have up to nine children and they say three is the hardest number,” he told PEOPLE. “I told [my wife] Jennifer, ‘We’re either giving one away or having another one!’”
